Kawaii for the World.
My friends and I started making Origami-based jewelry for our marketing class.
We had to introduce a new product to the market, even if it was something we didn't invent. We had to make the product, calculate the cost, and put a price to sell it. But we didn't have to sell it.
At the beggining we just wanted to get a good grade, finish with the project and go home. Turns almost every girl in our class wanted to buy something. So it all started as a class project, really. Not we're thinking about opening an Etsy shop, with more stuff other than origami shit.
I decided to name the brand "Kawaii" due to several facts:
1. It seems "Kawaii" is the IN japanese word right now.
2. Since Origami is japanese, I thought it would be good to name it after a japanese word.
3. Nobody gave me any ideas for the name
I was in charge of naming the product, making the logo and a promotion, and of course making part of the design.
Diana, my friend's siter, decided to take some samples to her high school. We got another HUGE order, from a bunch of high school girls who simply loved those things. So, my friends and I have been working on that lately. Making Origami for everyone who's able to pay $5 for a necklace, and a little bit less for a pair of earrings or a bracelet.
So I ship worldwide if you're interested. Well, not really. We're currently doing this in a local level, because we need to get organized. I don't want to make a big deal about it, until we get more stuff to sell. But I gotta say this is really helping me because I've gotten this bunch of cool jewelry ideas. Next time I'll take my headbands to another level.
Here's a bigger shot of what Nallely, Selene and I have been doing for the past two weeks [my mom hates me already because her little table is a mess right now]:
I think these things would make cool Christmas gifts for my cousins [who never get something from me...]
Oh yeah, Chop Suey [the Cat, also known as Napoleon, Marco Polo, Tom and Gato], wants me to show you he's in the mood for this Christmas season:
The cat hates me right now. He let me took that picture because I promised I'd give him a treat. But he betrayed me and made me give him more than one because he wouldn;t letme take it. I hate Chop Suey when he acts like a diva. Finally after a few shots, he stood up and let me take that picture.
I was listening to a song by The Veronicas called Untouched, so... listen to that. I don't know if I talked about that song before. I was thinking about oner songwarlier, but I forgot about it...
Have you noticed most of my songs don't have nothing to do with the posts I write?
Oh yeah the other song I was trying to remember is Top Of The World, by Shonen Knife. Shonen Knife are the first japanese band that are good to my ears. They're from the 80s or 90s, I wouldn't know. But they're pretty cool, and they don't sound like that anime-like J-pop shizz...
So anyway.... feel free to leave comments, questions and such. I have one day off and I'm bored.

LMAO!
I like the idea of supporting myself without selling my body.
That was the whole point of going to college... actually...
So about the earrings, I could send you some to L.A if you want, as soon as I get some metal chain because we just ran out of it.
Right now I'm into a giving away mood, so I'll give them to you for $ free.99
I few days ago I met some korean sisters and I told them I was going to sell them something too. So.. I'm going to take a trip to the post office anyway.[I have to go to San Diego because if I send them from Mexico they would NEVER get to your hands].
Just send me your address, and I'll try to put them in the mail by tuesday.
If you don't like yellow and want another color, let me know we have that red & white paper, we have that same paper in black, yellow with white polka dots [which is the one those stars are made of], black with white polka dots, and purple with colorful little flowers,
Then whenever you get an address in Japan I'll send them to you. Just let me know.
I like to ship worldwide because the weird people at the post office ask me random questions like "Do you really have japanese friends?" "Do you like to dance flamenco?" and most important "what the fuck is that elephant-looking package?"...
you can copy it, I wouldn't mind... LOL..
And yeah my cat's cute but he's such a bitch sometimes... But he has a reason though...
